Locations

House (exterior)

The exterior of the house will most likely to be filmed at night unless a lighting error is to occur which means not enough light can be seen. There will be a long shot of the character entering the house and then a POV shot from the upstairs right window to add to the narrative of the film and also set up the intro as the actor is to be staying in that room whilst he stays with family

This house would be ideal to film our opening in and from the outside, the
suburban feel to the house show it to be a family home and not for two people,
therefore the audience already assume that their is a family inside.

House (Interior)

These two shots show the entrance way to the interior of the house which will be shown when the actor enters the house and is greeted by the actor who will play the father of the family whom the actor is staying with. During the small talk between the father and the actor over shoulder shots will be used as well as maybe a long shot of the actor entering the house from across the street. The location is good as it is the same house as what is shown on the exterior shot of the building and also other features such as a large staircase can give an eerie feeling to the house which we want to portray in this opening scene.

The inside would look good in our footage as due to the flooring and the spacing in the frame. The banister gives a feel of a typical horror film, the pictures on the wall would also give a more eerie feel to the entrance.

Train Station: Herne Hill Station

This is where the beginning of the film opening will be located, we will see the main character exiting a train at the station and from there walking towards a bus stop through the station. Various establishing shots will be used such as tunnels and alleys surrounding the station.
These pictures show the outside of the Herne Hill train station and also the inside such as the staircases and the actual platform of the train station. The alley ways add the suspenseful atmosphere as the footage would be filmed at night and therefore will make the audience think that Tomos is being followed, or the camera work will emphasize that he is nervous about his new setting, London. The staircases would also look nice in the final product as we would want to film in a symmetrical frame and have the main character Tomos walk down the stair case with perhaps the main film title symmetrical to the frame also, the symmetrical aspect of the framing will add to the feeling that something is not right with the setting.
