Filming Overview #2
For our second and final shoot we mainly filmed around the area of North Dulwich where we filmed the main shots that made up Act 1/2 as we had already filmed Act 3 on our previous shoot. We took less equipment this time due to the availability of natural light as we were filming outside, for our first shots we filmed outside the North Dulwich train station. The main problems with these shots was the background sound that was caused by the ongoing traffic around us and therefore affecting the clearness of the dialogue by our two characters involved in the scene. We then filmed various shots around a housing estate near the station such as the stalking scene and another dialogue scene which had no problems, after these shots we had to film our inside shots of Emma and the masked character. These shots were difficult due to the lighting, framing and distance. For the shots involving the mask we wanted to make it as eerie and cloustrophobic as possible, with the lighting we wanted to create large shadows to set a darker mood. We decided to use a long shot for the scene also so the audience could see both the masked character and Emma and what they were both doing in relation to one another. We also decided on adding extra shots that we had not planned on doing in the storyboard, for example the doorbell scene which we decided would be scarier as it is a clear sign of the main characters vulnerability to the outside world and with the ominous black figure we can see through the door the audience is made to think who the figure is and what the figure is doing there.
