For our opening 2 minutes we will be using a free download off soundcloud to incorperate a feeling of tension and ambience. We will use around 20 seconds worth of this track for the last part of our opening, we feel this would add to the thriller side of our film.
In 'Exchange' we would want to use a varied sound track from artists such a bon iver, fleet foxes and Fanfarlo, this would all add to the 'indie' vibe to our film. We would want to achieve this indie vibe as it would allow us to futher attract our target audience of 15-24 year olds, music by contemporary artist would mean that younger people would want to go and watch the film because of this soundtrack.
This is the sound clip we would like to use towards the end of the 2 minute opening, we feel it would be appropriate for building tension ( due to the genre) and it isn't too overpowering or tacky.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePatJIwB-sI Bon Iver - Re stacks / This track is a slow rhythmic tune and would fit our films indie vibe, the tune is also not overpowering in the sense that it would wake up or scare the audience but only add ambient sound to the film. The song is mainly acoustic and therefore and slow paced therefore not building up tension but only to the atmospheric 'feel' of the location Tomos is in
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZPvp-HRRYQ Freelance Whales - Broken Horses / This track is also ambient and would add to the dark atmosphere of the film. The song is acoustic and therefore will add to the indie vibe of the film which we will aim to acheive.
http://soundcloud.com/practisesounds / We discovered this persons account on sound cloud whilst looking for copyright free music on the internet. The account contained music which added to the indie vibe of our film and we would later want to add it to our opening footage of our film as we believe that it would add more suspense to the opening
