Media Pre-Production Proposal: Structure and Narrative

The genre of the film will be a British crime thriller set in the near future dystopia that is London.  To set the scene, the streets of the capital are rife with crime. The government does not control the people or the capital, drug barons control the real power and even the government know this.  The stage is set for a political revolution unless the government are able to control the increased crime rates and also stop the wrong people from having the main power.

One day a detective is called to a murder scene that was in the centre of the city in a small alley, the murder of which is to be the opening of the film (2 minutes).
The movie starts off as a normal detective flick but then the plot begins to deepen, the detective discovers that the person who was murdered was in fact one of the biggest drug barons in the country and the assassin who murdered him was sent by the government who he discovers later on in the film is the minister of the interior. (Who is also shown in the first two minutes.)
Deals have been cut with the gangs so that if they allow the drugs to be imported into Britain legally, this enables the government to have a large percentage of the earnings gained by selling them in the country.

The opening Two minutes

The main plot will be the minister of the interior giving information to the assassin about the killing of the drug baron. Information such as where he is hiding and what time he will be there. This “job” description will also be edited with the assassin walking down a deserted road at night and then turning down into an alleyway. He will reach a door and enter into the drug baron’s liar, the confrontations between the two men will be menacing as the drug baron will be scared for his life whilst the assassin will keep silent. There will be a camera shot from outside the room and you will hear the assassin killing the drug baron.
The camera will then fade out to show the title on a completely black frame
